Albert O. Davies, M.D., President and CEO

 

Dr. Davies is the primary initiator, inventor and creator of the PatientCentral System. The ideas for PatientCentral stem from his clinical, administrative, scientific, business, and regulatory experience.

Clinically, Dr. Davies has a background in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and ImagePulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Davies has been practicing Critical Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine in major academic centers, private community hospitals, and indigent care county hospitals.

He has been the Medical Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas from 1990 to 2004, and has been the Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Duke Hospital, Durham, North Carolina. He has also been Associate Director of the Duke University Medical Center Emergency Room.

He has been Acting Chief of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Section at Baylor College of Medicine and Chief of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Service at The Methodist Hospital. 

Dr. Davies has served in a number of leadership capacities that provide insight into hospital operations and patient perspectives, including serving as Chair of the Medical Quality Management Subcommittee, Chair of Code Blue Committee, a member of Medicine Service Line Operational Committee, member of the ER-ICU Committee, a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, a member of the Biomedical Ethics Committee, and a member of the Patient Care Information System Team at The Methodist Hospital.

Dr. Davies has developed a number of medical informatics tools for physician documentation. Dr. Davies has experience in both hospital and medical school environments, in business, in computer programming, in productivity improvement, in process improvement and quality management.
