Cryptoengine: High Grade Encryption Print E-mail

CryptoEngine

Your information is securely encrypted using our CryptoEngine. This CryptoEngine utilizes the same encryption that is used for top secret communications within the United States Government, including the Department of Defense.

High security systems such as MyHealthArchive and the Department of Defense use employ a number of techniques to encrypt information. There are gradations of complexity of the encryption process. When a typical customer uses the internet to conduct business with a bank that customer is using a system that has an extremely high degree of confidence the code cannot be broken.

MyHealthArchive uses AES-256 Bit encryption, which in mathematical terms is the level of security of the typical online bank, SQUARED. This means the level of security MyHealthArchive uses far exceeds the level of security of a typical online bank.

MyHealthArchive encrypts all personally identifiable information. Many websites store all information in clear text (human readable) while it is in their server rooms. In the past this practice by others of not encrypting the data before storage has made data vulnerable, since if there were stolen servers or backup tapes the information would be easily available to anyone trying to steal identity. In contrast, MyHealthArchive goes the extra mile and protects your information even while it is in our secure facility. Your information at MyHealthArchive is safe even from theft.

An additional security feature employed at MyHealthArchive is to use two person authentication. MyHealthArchive has a policy to prevent even our administrators from viewing the contents of your Archive. However, in rare circumstances, we may be required by a proper legal authority to  transmit the contents of your Archive. If we were forced to transmit your records under such a court order, we would require two different administrators to enter two different special authorization codes to access your data, similar to the requirement to have two separate launch keys in a nuclear missile silo. Only one person knows each special authorization code, so your archive is heavily protected against prying eyes.

On occasion, you may ask our assistance through one of our Help functions to aid you in filling in forms or uploading information. If the level of problem you are having requires us to see the form along with you in order to help you, we only see the form you are asking us to help you complete. In other words, you are consenting to our viewing the form for the specific purpose of assisting you.

You are in control of whether anyone sees your form since you can decide whether or not to ask us to look at your forms.

Our general Help Desk personnel are HIPAA certified. The general Help Desk personnel aid you with process issues like website navigation and signing up, but they cannot view the contents of your Archive.

Only a limited group of MyHealthArchive adminsitrators will be allowed to view your form to help you. Note that again a two-code process is required to open your record for Help purposes - your password and the special authorization code of the administrator.

You will have to be already logged in to your archive before the MyHeathArchive administrator can open your Archive to view it with you.

Compared to the protections we have built in MyHealthArchive to protect your privacy, a typical medical records department of a hospital utilizes far lower technological and process barriers.
