Secondary Stage:
  • Charactarized by a that appears 2 to 12 weeks after sore develops.
  • A person is highly contagious during secondary stage.
  • A rash often develops on the body and can include the palms of the hand and foot sometimes.
  • Moist sore that look like warts may be present.

If left untreated, syphilis can affect the brain and nervous system(neurosyphilis), leads to visual impairments, and cause stroke and dementia.
